The GEICO Skytypers, the civilian squadron of six vintage World War II planes
use the blue sky
to advertise and entertain air show spectators by “sky-typing”
computerized dot matrix messages
10,000 feet up in the air- which can at times be seen up to 30 miles away
and known as the
“world’s largest text messages”. Each sky-typed letter is
as tall as the Empire State building and each
message is up to eight miles in length. The GEICO Skytypers will also fly
a low level, precision flying
demonstration that has thrilled spectators at air shows all over the United
States.
